Auctions for Natalie.....

Sad news hit my family this week. A relative of my husbands past away of an infection in her brain. She was only 3 1/2 yrs old. Little Natalie left behind a wonderful and loving Mother, Father, & older Brother.

I have posted 3 ACEO Cards up on eBay today. 100 % of the proceeds will be given to the Natalie Jones Memorial Fund. The money will go to help Natalie's Parents with her Medical Bills. I will be painting more and posting them for the rest of the month of November. Please pass along the information to the people you know. Look for the listing that say "for Natalie". Lets get these auctions bid up for them.

Well I can't believe that Summers almost to and end. WOW where did it go....I guess out the door. Haha So I have decided to have a End of Summer Sale on all my ACEO Cards on eBay. This is a great deal. I will be selling my cards for over 50% OFF. WOW what a savings. I figured everyone is having some sort of End of Summer Sale so why shouldn't I?? I will be putting at least 5 cards on auction every other day or so. I have pulled out my box of all the ACEO Cards that I haven't sold and will be putting them up. Well, now that I have the St. Paul Rodeo behind me for the year my plan is to concentrate on my eBay listings and ACEO Cards.

The Western Showcase was a success this year for me and can't wait to return next year. I took tons of inspiration photos of the rodeo and the parade. I can't wait to put them into use. Tons of ideas flowing through my Artistic Brain!!

I'm now waiting the results of the 2009 Equine Art Show at Emerald Downs Racetrack. That should be coming up this week. This was my first judged show where I mailed my Artwork to them. I'm pretty excited and can't wait to do more of these types of shows.

Well time is flying by, like normal. I'm gearing up for the 74th Annual St. Paul Rodeo and Western Showcase in July. So I have been trying to get some projects wrapped up for it. I only have 4 more weeks left and 3 paintings that I need to have completed by then. Hopefully I can do it!!

I have entered the 2009 Emerald Downs Equine Art Show. This is a judged show taking place at Emerald Downs Racetrack in Auburn, WA, July 9th -12th. I'm pretty excited to participate in this. I will keep you posted on how I do.

I hope every one's weekend was wonderful. We experienced some wonderful weather here in Oregon. It was in the 80's!

I decided to paint a little Black Capped Chickadee. It's up on Auction now. This piece was inspired by the two little birds that live in my bird house in the front of our house. The same pair of little birds have been coming back to make their family for the past 4 years. I like to sit and watch the birds bring their babies bugs and such while my kids ride their bikes. Soon the babies will be flying out of their nest.

I know I did. Thanks to my husband we planted some wonderful flowers and did some Spring Cleaning around our house.
Here is an eBay Artwork I just posted. It's a lovely White Horse with a wonderful purple background. Of coarse, painted with Acrylics on Watercolor Paper. I have been experimenting with Watercolor Paper and I actually have been really liking it. We are getting along now.

Canadian Goose

So this week has been a long week for me. I have lots going on and dealing with another round of sickness that has hit my house. So I finally got a chance to sit down and I painted this Canadian Goose. It was an inspiration from a photo I took at the Wildlife Safari that is located here in Oregon. The Safari seemed to have a lot of Canadian Geese and Squirrels. I'm sure they just took up residents there. I know if I was animal that's where I would go. No worries about predators and LOTS of grain to eat!!

So I took about 500 photos or so. I know I will be pulling paintings out of a lot of these photos. It gave me a lot of inspiration for Elk and Buffalo.

Spring Time Drawing......

So I went back to the pencil and starting doing some drawing again. I decided to draw a Cow Elk and her Calf. Since Spring is here I know that all the Deer and Elk are having their little ones. I just love this time of year.

Well, I turned 33 years old on the 12th and I'm having a bit of a hard time with it. I'm noticing more grey hair and wrinkles. So as I am drawing this piece I was noticing I was having a hard time focusing. I already wear contacts and I think that my eyes are not going to get any worse.... wrong! So in the middle of this drawing I told my husband " I think I'm going to have to go get some "readers" ( you know the ones that the older people where to read the newspaper). I just couldn't believe that I would have to go buy a pair of those!! Needless to say they worked great!! Even though my 4 year old daughter tells me I look like Papa!

I just put 2 Original ACEO Cards up on Auction today. Thought I would play around in Graphite this week. I did start the week with watercolor paper but I just got frustrated so I decided to go with some Pencil Work. It's like the basics for me. It's almost like my center point in my artwork.
So Listing #1 is an Eye Study of a Horse. I just love doing these Eye Studies and the other listing is of an Arabain. The Arabians are always a fun breed for me to draw.

"Three Baldies"

I finished this painting today!! I think it's been sitting on my aisle for about a month. I do have to say it felt good to actual complete a larger painting. I haven't painted anything on the larger scale in awhile. I struggled with the title, but came up with "Three Baldies". Titles are my weakness. :-) I hope you enjoy!

The First Blog....

Well, I have decided to start my own blog. I'm now an official Blogger. :-)

I have created this blog so if you would like to stay-up-to-date on my art you can. My goal for this year to to keep my clients and followers informed. I will be posting all my new work on here, whether it be an ACEO Card or a Large Scale Painting, or it could even be a Commissioned Portrait.

I'm gearing up for the 74th Annual St. Paul Rodeo in July. I have been trying to get new work out their, but I have been busy with my kids and taking a bit of a break. I told myself in April I was going to get back into the swing of things and start getting my creative mind back on track. A bit hard with the whole family being sick with the nasty flu bug.

I really hope everyone enjoys this as much as I will. I'm always looking for feedback so don't hesitate to post a comment. I would love to here back from you.
